Does all property have to go through probate when a person dies?

Transcript

A lot of things would bypass the probate process. Any assets that have beneficiaries on them will pass according to the beneficiary designation you put on those contracts or accounts. Such as annuities, even bank accounts and brokerage accounts. Those can all have beneficiary designations. Also, any property that’s jointly owned with another person upon your death simply remains the property of the other person. So it does not go through probate. A lot of times, very few assets pass through probate.
