How long will probate take in Florida?

Transcript

A probate proceeding, there are a couple different types. A summary proceeding can be over with as quickly as 60 days or so. A formal proceeding will take probably at a minimum about six to eight months. It can be a little longer depending on what kind of assets you have, whether you have to sell things, whether there are any unusual creditor issues that have to be resolved, perhaps filing your tax return. Those can all delay it a bit. But typically, six to eight months at a minimum and typically not much more than a year for a fairly routine case.
